Our History

Arizona Automotive Institute (AAI) was founded in October 1968. In the fall of 1981, AAI became part of National Education Corporation, Irvine, California. In June of 1997, Harcourt General Incorporated, Chestnut Hills, Massachusetts, acquired AAI. In April of 1999, AAI became part of ATI Enterprises of Florida, Inc. In 2004, the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Basic Refrigeration program was added. In 2009, Combination Welding was added. 

 

In August 2014, AAI and STVT – San Antonio both became branch campuses of Platt College, 3801 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74145, which was acquired by STVT – AAI Education Inc. in August 2014. 

 

Throughout these changes, AAI has remained on its original site and retains its original commitment to helping our students find vocational careers.

The first step to starting your AAI education journey is to pick the program you want to pursue. Arizona Automotive Institute offers four different program options for those seeking technical careers in Phoenix, Arizona. You have the option to choose Automotive Service Technician, Combination Welding, Diesel/Heavy Truck Technician or HVAC & Basic Refrigeration for your AAI technical career education.
